Tavia’s power is growing. But as she reunites with ancient allies, ancient enemies continue their pursuit—and a new threat, a deadly virus, is working its way across the world with devastating consequences.

Can Tavia untangle the mysteries of her many pasts—before it’s too late?

I really liked Pike's first series (Wings), so I was excited to find she'd started another series. I like the themes she's using in this series--reincarnation, love that spans thousands of years, supernatural powers, the possibility that you can fight your own destiny. Somehow I just feel like this series isn't as well-written as her last. Everything seems rushed, and I don't find any of the characters particularly ... likeable. I like strong female leads, and Tavia just isn't one. The character fights to be independent and strong, but she's so unlikeable that it just doesn't come across well. Her relationships with other people also seem rushed and insincere. There is no basis for her affections for anyone; you don't ever get to read any build-up to her relationships or anything. It's fairly disappointing. The series so far is meh at best (two novels in). Usually I become very invested in a series (like I was with Wings) but this one I keep putting down, and I have to make myself go back to it. I am going to keep reading it through the end of the series because I hate leaving off like that. But it's not really a series that I can get excited about.

And just once, I would like to read a novel or series of this particular genre that DOESN'T involve a love triangle. The basic frame and set-up of this story is a replica of Wings. Which isn't necessarily bad; most series like this one unfortunately involve a love triangle. But a change would be refreshing.

Nice
I am so enamored of these first two books in this series! Gods? Who would have thought? Wonderful! Waiting for the next one. And me at age 62. ...
Pretty good per recipient.
After reading this book, the second in the series, it made the first book much more understandable. I actually went back and reread Earthbound and enjoyed it much more. Interesting story line. Excited to see what happens next.
Extremely disappointing sequel. The science portions seemed reasonable well researched but the charm of the first book was gone from everything to the plot, the characters as well as the core of the story. I did not feel it. At all.
Put on your seatbelt! This novel starts fast and continues even faster! I fell in love with Earthbound, but I have to admit Earthquake was even better. There is one surprise after another, some jaw dropping shocking surprises. This sequel picks up where Earthbound left off. The ending certainly indicates that there will be a 3rd. I can 't wait.
I have way too many books........but I saw the first of this trilogy in a dollar store and bought it because it looked different. It was. I didn't even realize there was another. I told my sister about it and she said did I know there was a book 2 and 3? So I had to buy the next one......Earthquake. It was so good I couldn't put it down. A mystery, love story, thriller and fantasy all rolled up in one. Then I went and got the third one, too. Highly recommend.
